Brilliant jazz pianist, Steve Keen, will be featured with the choir on "I'm Just a Lucky So and So" by legendary band leader and composer, Duke Ellington.

Among classical selections to be performed will be the eloquent "A Thought Like Music" by Johannes Brahms, "Lift Thine Eyes" from Mendelssohn's oratorio, "Elijah" (as well as his famous "On Wings of Song"), "Bonne Nuit" by Jules Massenet and the wistful "Loveliest of Trees" by the early 20th Century English composer, George Butterworth.
The choir will also present a fascinating survey of folk and popular melodies from around the world (representing 13 countries)---including "Sweet Woodlark" from Scotland, the nostalgic "Khata moya bila khata" from Ukraine, the poly-rhythmic "Guarare" from Panama, "Olha a rosa amarelle," a Brazilian samba, and the African-American spirituals, "Deep River" and "Let Me Fly." Also heard will be Woodward's own Caribbean-based "Down by the Seashore" and the choir's original setting of the signature Italian song, "O Sole Mio" (in recognition of Salt Lake City's recently established sister-city relationship with the city of Turin, Italy). The concert will conclude with combined choir ensembles in a new setting of "Evening Prayer"---followed by choir and choir alumni joining in "A Day in Spring."
